PHP and System updates

Hello there.

The systems administrators are in the process of updating all the shared web hosting servers to the latest versions of the Operating Systems patches including a major PHP upgrade, most severs have already been updated, the rest will be completed by the first week of December if all goes to plan?

Therefore, if your scripts support the latest versions of PHP, most systems such as the latest version of Wordpress for example support PHP 7.4 and 8.0 but plugins and themes may not be? you would have to check with the vendors to confirm.

The updated servers have the latest PHP versions.

You may switch to them by adding either line to your .htaccess file:

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php74 .php
or
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php80 .php

The main Control panel PHP switcher update will happen at the end, once all the servers have been updated.

I hope this helps?

Regards.

Green WebHost support team.
